The Signage Process

  • Blue building with white and pink sign reading 'FLOCK BEER & WINE', tree with yellow leaves in the foreground, and parking lot with cars reflected in the windows.

Custom Painted Signage Makes a Difference

Hand-painted signs evoke a sense of craftsmanship and authenticity that no printed alternative can match. Each piece is created with care, enduring materials, and a design tailored to your vision. Built to last and full of character, these signs don’t just mark a business, they tell its story and create a lasting impression.

    From Measurement to Masterpiece

My process combines precision with craftsmanship. Using exact measurements, I create custom stencils tailored specifically to the wall or surface. These stencils are carefully positioned for perfect alignment, then traced and hand-painted with attention to detail. The result is a clean, accurate design that maintains the character and warmth of traditional hand-painted lettering.

    Pricing

Each hand-painted sign is priced with a flat project fee, tailored to the unique needs of your space and design. Final costs depend on several key factors, including size, level of detail and complexity, surface type, and any equipment rentals required for access. Optional UV protection can also be added for long-term durability.

A large white brick wall signage mural, large black text that says, 'LOVE GOD LOVE PEOPLE,' and cursive text below that reads, 'Embrace the journey.' There is a circular logo with a cross and arrow design on the right side in Madisonville, Tennessee.

Make a Statement

I helped this client transform an ordinary exterior wall into a bold visual statement that can be seen from blocks away. Using large-scale, high-contrast lettering, we turned the side of their building into a message of purpose and community—Love God. Love People. Embrace the journey. The clean and bold design draws attention from passing traffic while reflecting the heart of the organization. This was a design the clients had created years ago, and I was proud to help bring their long-envisioned concept to life as a meaningful landmark in Madisonville, Tennessee.

Blair's Bokay in Madisonville, Tennessee. Large black and white signage mural with floral illustrations, advertising 'florals, gift, home, botanical'.

Make it Stand Out

For this project, I designed floral elements that grow outward from the lettering, creating a dynamic composition that merges typography with illustration. The flowers appear to bloom directly from the words, adding movement, texture, and life to the design. This approach takes traditional lettering a step further—transforming it from simple signage into a storytelling piece that visually celebrates the client’s floral services and draws immediate attention to what they do best.
